Signposts

The traveler plods on
On roads unknown
Begins with the known
And moves on

Finds his way
By signposts and directions
Left by others who passed this way
Mostly with no name to claim as one’s own
In compassion for the traveler that shall tread
This path

Scriptures footprints of Masters

Who were compassionate enough to leave signposts

For seekers to come

Master the Kindly light that shows the way

The Master the kindly Light that leads unto itself

The ONE SELF

The seeker moves on

To cling to the Master or the Scriptures

Is ignorance

She introduces the Source
As the newborn is introduced to its Father
By the Mother

IN the still waters of the pond
In the swirling waters of the whirlpool
In the innocent smile of the child,
In the hand that nurtures, admonishes
And serves, effortlessly, ever selfless
Resides Mother

The still earth that nurtures saint and sinner
With love and patience
Resides Mother

In the ‘lifeless’ idols,
What is ‘lifeless’ when everything is permeated by You?

There is none independent of you
Every atom is permeated by you
Some say you are Durga
Some say Shakti
Yet others Cosmic Energy

Many, many names

For MY MOTHER
There is none other

SHAKTI
Princess of Eternal beauty,
Slender yet strong
Watch in amazement
At the multitudes of roles you play
Creator, Conserver, Destroyer,
Simply MOTHER
Expression of the Infinite Source
Starkly different
As sound from Silence
Yet two sides of one coin
TRUTH

Truth is always close at hand
One can see it in the palm of one’s hand
Or in the swaying fronds of the palm on land
In the play of darkness and light
In the hour of twilight
At dawn and dusk
In between everything and something
In nothing
In the play of words in the space between words
In emptiness and fullness
As everything fades into nothing
In the Oneness that is …………..

The deeds of men live long after they die
Bodies are but clothes to the soul
That are shed

Deeds are not shed with change of clothing
Every effect has a cause
He that planted the neem
Shall reap such
He that planted the mango
Shall taste such
