Your best Friend and Foe....The MIND

Bandhur atmatmanas tasya yenatmaivatmana jitah
Anatmanas tu satrutve vartetatmaiva satruvat

Mind…a bundle of thoughts
Your faithful friend and foe too
All at once in a jiffy

A mind trained to look out
Is vagrant
Sees divisions
Will constantly divide compare sort
Breed in feelings of inferiority/superiority
Both bring in misery
And pain unlimited
Amidst fleeting joys

A mind
That turns within
that sees the oneness around
Amidst division that surround
Is one rooted in the Consciousness
Is a friend
Brings in wisdom, clarity
And most of all Bliss
Eternal

Na tad bhasyate suryo na sasanko na pavakah
Yad gatva na nivartante tad dhama paramam mamah--(ref: Bhagawad Gita Chapter 15-- verse 6)

The light of the sun-light
The light of the moon-light

Yet the light beyond them !
That which enfolds within and around
The light that enlivens all beings
Just the One

To know this is the en-lighten-ment
To reach me for-ever
