On waiting

I waited at your doorstep
Wondering how long will it be
Before I gaze on your blissful form
Every moment an agony and an ecstasy
At once
The next moment couldn’t be soon enough

Then came a Silence a pause
As if in answer...
A thought that drifted in

‘How long have i kept You waiting
You called me so many many times
Not from afar
But from less than a whisper’s distance away
And yet…..

Though so intimately close
I was afar
In a land beyond reach
Chasing shadows, earthly dreams
That vanished
As I went near
While You wait endlessly…
